SERVING THE NEEDS OF IRISH LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND THEIR ASSOCIATES IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND
The Police Emerald Society was founded in 1996. We are a not-for-profit Irish organization that supports Law Enforcement members and organizations in the State of Maryland. We are based in the Baltimore, Maryland metropolitan area. The PES offers its members a chance to network with other Law Enforcement individuals, organizations and supporters. It offers an opportunity to work with the community and raise funds for charity causes. The Police Emerald Society is one of the few Law Enforcement organizations that offers its members a variety of events to attend and participate in.

The Police Unity Tour is “WE RIDE FOR THOSE THAT DIED”
I will be remembering all of the Law Enforcement Officials that died in 2011 and all the years prior.
But most of all I will be dedicating my ride to three Baltimore City Police Officers that made the ultimate sacrifice: Officer William H. Torbit Jr.: End of Watch 1/9/2011, Officer Ira N. Weiner: End of Watch 9/21/1992 and Officer Lorenzo Gray: End of Watch 7/26/1972. Officer Torbit’s name will be engraved in those hallowed walls this year and 2012 will be the 20th and 40th anniversaries of the deaths of Officers Weiner and Gray.
I did not personally know Officers Torbit or Gray but Officer Weiner was a friend and co-worker to me.
I will not ever forget these three great men nor any of the almost 20,000 names engraved in the walls of the National Law Enforcement Memorial.
I ask you to please remember these heroes and donate to my ride in the Police Unity Tour. The easiest way for you to donate is through the link on the navagation to the left, however you may make donations directly to the Police Unity Tour Chapter IX site or by mailing them to my work address:
